Teaching methods
The experience learns that the driving skill requirements and traffic rules are deviant from those in your home country. As in many situations you do not know what you do not know, true realization once you step in the car and participate in the Dutch traffic. We follow structured teaching methods starting with ‘easy’ traffic situations while slowly progressing to more difficult situations up to independent driving.
This is structured with personal student progress cards to measure your level and personal development. Although this follows a specific structure it is also customized to your personal skill level and talent. This means that experienced drivers will progress faster than inexperienced drivers. During the first introduction lesson an estimate of your personal education needs will be given depending on your skills and personal requirement also taking into account whether you already have a driving license or the level of experience in your home country. This will ensure that at the end of your education your personal targets are met.
The instructor is in his fifties and is very easy going during the class. He will explain and communicate everything very clearly and as often as required. The idea is to avoid stress in the car and primarily get to an enjoyed experience instead. Our philosophy is that when you enjoy driving a car rather than being scared the education will be easier too. We give you all the knowledge, atmosphere and tools to reach this level. Driving lessons

Social driving behavior
Rijschool Mikado teaches you social and defensive driving behavior. Social driving behavior is giving other road users space. Defensive driving behavior is recognizing and catching mistakes of other road users in time.
